Indian Peaks is setting the standard for the way families want to live today.

Indian Peaks was recently featured in an article of The Daily Camera, citing that McStain Neighborhoods is setting the standard  in community homebuilding and now is the time to purchase a new home.  Buyers are responding enthusiastically to the opportunity of home ownership in the last available neighborhood of the award-winning Indian Peaks community in Boulder County. Since the early ‘90s, Indian Peaks has become known for its outdoor living, great architecture and smart, energy-efficient design. With miles of hiking trails, abundant open space and a Hale Irwin-designed golf course, the community has set the standard for the way families want to live today.

“A lot of families have waited to buy a new home, but people are telling us that they are again ready to make a move,” says David Ware, McStain CEO. “And Indian Peaks South offers a special opportunity to own a new home that is built to uniquely fit your needs and desires. With a full complement of ranch style, main-floor master plans and traditional two-story designs to choose from, you have plenty of options – and a trusted, local homebuilder with over 40 years of experience.”

One notable difference in today’s new home marketplace, Ware explains, is that available home inventories are more balanced to prevailing demand. In the past, you might find a half dozen homes available in some communities. “Over the last several years, buyers got used to being able to wait in a slower market. But we are now building to pace the market, and we are seeing our homes selling before they are completed. The good news is that buyers who buy early in their home’s construction are in the best position to get the most desired design and finish options. We are creating semi-custom homes at non-custom prices.”

Boulder County is showing strong signs for increased demand and pricing for new homes.

In a recent article citing local housing data, new home sales in Boulder County jumped year-over-year, and with the strong hike in the 4th quarter in 2011, there are several signs that the housing market may be bolstering. New home sales saw a 43.5% boost from a year earlier to 33, and this was after the housing market saw a 9.1% rise year-over-year in September. This is good news for our housing market, but it also means that demand for new homes will increase and rising prices will follow.

If you’re considering a new home purchase – now is the time to buy at Indian Peaks South, before prices increase and availability is limited. Don’t miss your chance to live in one of the most beautiful neighborhoods in Boulder County with close proximity to parks, outdoor recreation and much more! Call 303-665-8200, or contact Cindie@copperwest.net or Chad@copperwest.net today to secure your new McStain home at Indian Peaks South.

Accommodating their lifestyle made the difference for one McStain homeowner

When Kristie and her husband Dale moved from Seattle, they were looking for an area that was close to the mountains and encouraged plenty of outdoor activity. With their active lifestyle and Dale being a certified mountain guide, it became apparent that Boulder County was the right choice for them. When they first moved to this area, they lived in a townhome with their dog and two cats. It was a temporary solution, as what they were really seeking was a new house of their own.

They originally looked at Indian Peaks as an option, but it seemed unattainable at the time. As they continued their search and compared homebuilders, it became obvious that what they were really looking for was there all along in Indian Peaks. “In addition to the right house, we were looking for a low-maintenance home that featured energy efficient products and a builder that allowed us to customize the home for the way we really live. McStain’s new Cottage Series seemed to be the perfect fit,” states Kristie.

Kristie and Dale built their home from the ground-up, and as a result were able to make a number of custom changes to the plan. In addition to installing upgraded hardwood floors, tile and fixtures; they increased the garage and added a mud room, increased the kitchen, reconfigured the master bath to accommodate a custom shower stall and even built a dog run on the side of the house.

“The team at McStain was so helpful and accommodating. The sales staff, construction team and even upper management were very receptive to our change requests.  There was never a time when we felt we couldn’t talk with anyone from McStain – they were always accessible,” cites Dale. “We’ve only been in our house for over a month, but are very happy with our new home. I would encourage anyone looking for a new home to visit Indian Peaks.”

Indian Peaks – Where it feels like home again

Being a native of Colorado and 5th generation Boulder County resident; Cheryl knew how wonderful it was to grow-up in this area and as an adult, she wanted to stay there. She had lived in various locations within the county; including Louisville, but it really never felt like home to her. Recently a major transition took place in Cheryl’s life and she found herself looking for a new place to live…a new place to call home.

She looked at numerous homes on the market; townhomes and even some foreclosures in the area, but most homes were too big and not the right fit for her lifestyle. Cheryl had known about Indian Peaks through friends and family that lived there, and decided to visit on her own. There she found the perfect home; a 1,500 square foot ranch, with 2 bedrooms, a home office and full unfinished basement.

As one of the first buyers to purchase a home from McStain’s new Cottage Collection, Cheryl bought her home off of a set of blueprints, something that’s not typical in today’s housing market. However, this opportunity allowed her to provide input on the plans, which were later incorporated into the final floorplan.  “This home was perfectly designed for me. I came from a large 3,000 square foot home, but because of the layout of this ranch, it has proven to be more functional than my previous home,” states Cheryl. “McStain was very flexible with my custom changes, which included an extended patio, additional linen closet and a reconfigured doorway to the master bedroom to accommodate my lifestyle.”

“In addition to the plan changes, the people at McStain Neighborhoods were professional and easy to work with…they were available to help every step of the way. They were also patient when it came to selling my existing house, which took a little longer based on the current market,” cites Cheryl.  A few months ago, Cheryl was able to make her dream house a reality and now resides at Indian Peaks, where it feels like home again.

Meet Mike Stude – Purchasing Supervisor for McStain Neighborhoods

As the most recent team member of McStain Neighborhoods, Mike Stude knows a thing or two about construction and purchasing. A graduate of the CSU Construction Management Program in the late 90’s, Mike started his career with Arnold Homes along the Front Range and in Denver. There he built a number of patio homes in various infill projects for six years. Towards the end of his six year tenor, he ventured into joint projects with Harvard Communities. Within a short time, he found himself working exclusively with Harvard Communities, where he managed the Purchasing Department.

Harvard Communities soon became well known as an energy efficient builder and Mike was instrumental in developing their signature programs. A pioneer of the Green Built Home program, his team partnered with the Department of Energy and designed two of the first Near Zero Energy Homes built in Stapleton, utilizing new products and technologies that pushed the envelope on energy efficient home building.    As a result of the success they had with building and selling energy efficiency, Harvard Communities continued to build many more semi-custom and custom homes in the Denver Metro area.

For the next six years, Mike was busy managing all of the purchasing efforts for Harvard Communities through 2009, but with the slowdown of the housing market, he found himself at a crossroads with his career. While he continued working with Harvard Communities on a part-time basis, he decided to consult with several builders on their purchasing needs; one coincidently was McStain Neighborhoods.

“I knew about McStain’s reputation through other people I worked with in the industry, and everything I heard was positive. I was excited about the opportunity to work with McStain Neighborhoods, as my personal mission was in line with theirs and I was hoping it would be a long-term relationship,” states Mike.  That hope was made a reality when Mike transitioned into the full-time position of Purchasing Supervisor mid-summer this year.

“We are very happy to have Mike on board; he is a vital part of our team and has the experience to take our company to the next level,” cites David Ware, president of McStain Neighborhoods. “From what he has shown us thus far, we expect great things from him in the future.”

Retired couple finds the perfect home in Indian Peaks

Doug and Colleen Tucker were natives to Colorado, but over the years they traveled for Doug’s work and lived in a number of places all over the world. When Doug retired, they decided to down-size from their large Boulder home to something smaller. They started their two year search in the city of Boulder, but wanted a newer home and began looking into broader Boulder County and came across the Indian Peaks neighborhood in Lafayette.

They were aware of McStain Neighborhoods and knew the builders have an excellent reputation for building quality products.  During their first visit to Indian Peaks, they realized the community location with beautiful views and proximity to parks and golf courses and Denver would be an advantage. They initially looked at a ranch plan, but chose a two-story home with an office for Doug and an art studio for Colleen. “When we contracted on the home, it was in a mid-construction frame stage, but McStain was very flexible and allowed us to make changes and select upgrades to accommodate our lifestyle”, states Doug.

“Our experience was easy and enjoyable during the entire building process,” declares Colleen. “The sales team was extremely helpful, and Pat from the construction team was incredibly responsive and answered all of our questions promptly. Senior management at McStain was very accommodating and informative and made us feel comfortable as well as assured.”

“We’ve been in our home for a few months and feel that we’ve made the right decision by choosing to settle here in Indian Peaks South. We highly recommend this community and McStain Neighborhoods for anyone that is looking for a new home in Boulder County,” adds Doug.

Meet Chuck Lambert – Construction Manager for McStain Neighborhoods

With over 25 years experience in construction management – 15 of those with McStain, Chuck Lambert has been involved with every type of construction practice imaginable. Whether he’s building condos, townhomes, single-family production homes or a custom parade home – Chuck has managed the process; he also has experience working in commercial construction, general contracting and remodeling.  While doing so, he has traveled from Boulder to Denver; working in such neighborhoods as Stapleton, Lowry and Platt Park, leaving his mark of excellence on the homes he has built there.

Chuck wears many hats, including overseeing the new homes in Curtis Park, as well as managing the new construction services offered by McStain Neighborhoods. In addition to his construction management responsibilities, he also does the research for custom designs and bid work when necessary. “We do our best to make the customer happy, which is the part of our philosophy at McStain Neighborhoods”, states Lambert.

While his latest project at Curtis Park may have its challenges from a construction stand-point, Chuck sees it as a wonderful opportunity to build in an urban location with character. “This is a great chance for McStain to shine as Denver’s neighborhood builder; we also hope it will have a positive impact for the community of Curtis Park as well”.

When asked what keeps him working for McStain all these years, he talks about the people and how they have supported him. “The culture at McStain has empowered me to be my best and deliver a great product over the years.  They show me great respect and I feel like I make a difference in people’s lives”, adds Lambert, “I wouldn’t want to work any other place”.

What is the McStain Advantage?

ASt Town 01t McStain Neighborhoods, we believe that your home should be as unique as you are. It’s about listening and understanding what you want in your home. Whether it’s redesigning spaces or tailoring your finishes – it is the true art of CUSTOMIZATION, by making your house into a home that you will love. All this includes lower maintenance costs that are supported by our continued commitment to build each home as a qualified ENERGY STAR home. This is what we refer to as the McStain Advantage.

As you search for your new home and compare the differences between homebuilders; here are a few questions you may want to ask:

  • Will the builder allow you to redesign the floorplan to better fit your needs?
  • Can you blend the best features of two floorplans into one custom designed home?
  • Can you design your own basement finish plan?
  • Is the builder an Energy Star partner? If so, how many of their homes qualify for the program?
  • Does the builder use sustainable products to save you money on your utility costs?
  • Is the builder a local, private company with a focus on customer service?
  • Does the neighborhood feature amenities such as parks, trails, and proximity to conveniences?

If the answer is NO to any of these questions, then you should take another look at McStain Neighborhoods. For a full list of our available homes, visit http://www.mcstain.com/neighborhoods.
