Our desire to help the families of Children’s Hospital Colorado continues this month with our “Share the Love” promotion and with a simple click of your mouse – you can participate too! We were looking for a sustainable builder, but got so much more!

When Todd, along his wife Natalie and 1 year old son Ty were transferred back to Colorado, it was tough to find a home similar to what they were used to in Atlanta. However, as Todd and his wife continued their house search, they had feel back in love with Boulder County, since they had previously lived in this area. Location was a key factor, as they wanted an area that was close to Todd’s work, while convenient to open space and outdoor recreation.

They only had a short time to make a decision and needed to find a finished new home. They had heard of McStain Neighborhoods, but didn’t realize the level of detail that went into a McStain home and neighborhood, until they saw it for themselves. They initially feel in love with the location and sense of community of Indian Peaks, and quickly found the home of their dreams.

“We were really impressed with McStain.  Not only did they design the community with intentionality, and provide a unique environment for the people who live here, but they also build a character–driven product, where every square foot of the home was purposeful and not wasted,” states Todd. “We were looking for a sustainable builder who was thoughtful with their home designs and materials used, but got so much more.”

McStain always had my best interest at heart

Leslie had lived and worked in Boulder County for over half a decade, so when it came time to find a new home, she wanted to stay in the area she had come to love. Her Louisville condo was initially a good fit for her, but it was lacking one of the biggest items a homeowner and high performance driving enthusiast would need – a garage.  Leslie’s need to store and work on her race car became a huge priority, so the search for a new home began.

At first, Leslie didn’t consider a new construction home and started looking at existing homes on the market. For several months, Leslie was not able to find an existing home of her dreams, so her Realtor suggested a look at Indian Peaks South. While touring the community and a home currently under construction, Leslie got the sense that this was the place she wanted to live and purchased the home.

Even though the house was further along in the building process, she still had time to customize the home to fit her lifestyle. In addition to finishing a partial basement, she was able to collaborate with the construction manager to make structural changes in a secondary bathroom to accommodate a large linen closet. She enjoyed the fact that her home had already been enhanced with upgraded cabinets, fixtures, skip-trowel wall finishes, and pre-wire for speakers, so carried those upgraded finishes into the basement.

“Pat the construction manager along with the entire team at McStain really cared about me, and were completely accommodating throughout the entire building process. You sometimes hear of horror stories with new construction, but everything went smoothly and there weren’t any surprises,” exclaims Leslie. “McStain always had my best interest at heart.”

While Leslie has lived at Indian Peaks South for less than a year, she really enjoys her home and neighborhood. “With my busy work schedule and weekends spent at the track , it’s nice to come home to a beautiful community setting and friendly neighbors. I’m very glad I purchased a McStain Home at Indian Peaks South; it feels like I made a good investment,” concludes Leslie.

McStain partners with the Humane Society of Boulder Valley to make a difference in the lives of animals.

In an effort to serve to our community in Boulder County, McStain Neighborhoods is giving back to the Humane Society of Boulder Valley. Through our Like Us campaign on our Facebook Fan page, McStain is donating $5.00 to the Humane Society of Boulder Valley for each person that “Likes” us and becomes a fan from February 3rd until March 31st“The Humane Society of Boulder Valley is a wonderful non-profit organization that protects and finds new homes for companion animals, and we are proud to partner with such a worthy charity within our community,” states David Ware, president of McStain Neighborhoods.

Founded in 1902, the Humane Society of Boulder Valley provides shelter and care to more than 9,000 animals each year, with 92 percent of these animals being successfully adopted or reunited with their guardians.  Along with the shelter and adoption services, the Humane Society of Boulder Valley operates a full-service veterinary clinic, the Sonnyside Retail Pet Supplies Store and a Thrift and Gift Shop in Boulder. Its reward-based, positive reinforcement training and behavior classes touch the lives of more than 4,000 clients each year.
